Miss Universe Philippines 2021 Beatrice Luigi Gomez expressed her love for Miss World Philippines 2021 Tracy Maureen Perez, who happens to be a fellow Cebuana.
In a throwback photo on Instagram, Gomez revealed how Perez boosted her self-confidence as a beauty queen. “You told me not to give up so easily, to believe in my capabilities, and to always go back to my core values when things get rough. You reminded me that my only competition was myself and no one else.”

“Who would have thought that we’d be here after that conversation. Thank you so much Queen @tracymaureenperez for the constant reminder and support despite the preparations that you yourself have been through,” Gomez continued, as she gushed about her fellow beauty queen.
“I am proud of you. We are proud of you, my sister. Together we will continue to make it happen not only for Cebu City but for the Philippines,” she added.
Pageant fans were quick to comment and show their support for the Cebuana beauty queens.
Instagram user @agostos18 joked: “Sa mga nagtatanong kung anong tubig namion dito sa Cebu, may collagen at snail extract po tubig namin dito. Thank you!”
Gomez was crowned as Miss Universe Philippines 2021 at the pageant’s coronation night in Panglao, Bohol. She also made history as the first LGBTQ+ beauty queen to receive a national pageant title.
She is set to represent the country in the Miss Universe 2021 pageant in Israel in December.
Meanwhile, Perez was crowned as Miss World Philippines 2021 in Subic—her second attempt at the coveted title. She recently went viral for gracefully picking herself up after she stumbled twice in the pageant’s coronation night.
The Cebuana beauty queen will compete in the Miss World 2021 pageant in Puerto Rico, also in December.
