Fire Horse 2026: A year of intensity, speed, growth, accountability

Published Feb 17, 2026 5:00 am

As the clock strikes 12 on Tuesday, Feb. 17, the Wood Snake fizzles out with a faint hiss while the Fire Horse comes galloping in with an intense flame.

Welcome the Year of the Fire Horse, Feb. 17, 2026 to Feb. 20, 2027, which happens only once in 60 years or six decades. With the horse and the fire element coming together, expect an explosion like no other. You can honestly say you’ll get a real kick out of the Year of the Fire Horse.

“It’s a powerful but demanding year—intense like the burning sun (yang fire), passionate, growing, fast moving,” says Patrick Lim Fernandez, a familiar face on the local feng shui scene and heir to a family enterprise of respected feng shui practitioners (before him were his mom Baby and late sister Princess Lim Fernandez). “It illuminates everything—issues will not stay hidden in the shadows or avoided as they will be brought to the surface.”

Patrick Lim Fernandez: “It’s a powerful but demanding year — not a year for staying still or waiting things out. You’ve got to act, move, do it.”

Not for the faint of heart, the Year of the Fire Horse is not a year for staying still or waiting things out. You’ve got to act, move, and just do it!

On the other hand, the horse being an independent, fast-moving animal, people would tend to be impulsive—acting, reacting, saying and doing things without thinking.

“Harness that radiant, energetic fire within you with courage but temper impulsiveness with wisdom,” Patrick strongly suggests. “Balance these four aspects: career, health, money, relationships.”

Then he drops the latest buzzwords being tossed around these days: “It’s the year of high accountability. A year of high pressure coming from yourself.”

Lucky, not-so-lucky signs

“It’s a lucky year for good leadership,” Patrick stresses. “Because of the Horse’s high visibility—be it in the corporate world, public office, church, even the home—people will listen to you.”

Patrick would rather call them “above average” and “below average” luck. So, here they are:

  • Above average in career luck: Rabbit, Dog, Goat, Rooster. It’s a good year to expand your business.
  • Below average in health luck (because of the presence of the illness star): Pig, Snake, Tiger, Horse.
  • Lucky in wealth: Rabbit, Horse, Pig. (Tip: Be a bit more adventurous, take calculated risks you may not have taken before.)
  • Below average in money luck: Rat, Snake, Tiger, Pig. (Tip: Be cautious with money as there could be unexpected loss/robbery. Have an emergency fund, monitor your cash flow.)
  • Above average in relationship luck: Ox, Snake, Rooster, Goat. Especially the Rooster who has a lot to crow about when it comes to love luck. So, all ye single, starry-eyed Roosters, put yourselves out there and start looking for love.
  • Below average luck in relationships (because of the conflict star): Monkey, Horse, Rabbit.
  • Travel with caution: Tiger, Snake, Monkey.

And here are the industries that will do better than the others, kicking forward in the Year of the Fire Horse: knowledge (consulting, teaching, training), interior design, architecture, fashion, legal industry, accounting, environment and sustainability, travel, tourism, brokerage/trading, retail, supermarkets, beverage, hygiene.

To experience (a bit of) average luck are the real estate, banking, and finance industries.

Does feng shui conflict with religion?

“It’s not hula (fortune telling), we help educate people on what feng shui is (in Chinese astrology, it literally means wind and water), what it’s not, what it can and can’t do for you,” Patrick emphasizes. “It’s knowing how the energies flow. It’s all about balance, the yin and the yang. At the end of the day, it’s all about knowing what things we can’t change and going with the flow.”

To cap his forecast, feng shui expert Patrick Lim Fernandez sends this message: Be open-minded. Brace yourself for a wild ride in the Year of the Fire Horse!

Zodiac signs

Rat (1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008)

Restore/rekindle connections through shared meals—and create new memories—that nourish both body and soul.

Success comes from focus, not ambition.

Lower your risk tolerance. Stay vigilant with regard to your health and safety. Prevention outclasses recovery.

Ox (1925, 1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009)

Support comes through structure and hierarchy. Unlock success not through charisma but through systems, respecting roles and processes.

Setbacks reverse unexpectedly. Overall, it’s an A-OXay year!

Legitimate authority emerges. Leadership works best when collaborative rather than dominant. Earn trust through consistency.

Tiger (1926. 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010)

Beware of the backstabbing star. Silence and integrity protect reputation better than rebuttal.

Physical caution is a must. Avoid risk, fatigue, and haste. Earn your stripes. Maintain good health.

Be wary of financial impulsiveness. Preparation neutralizes volatility.

Rabbit (1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011)

It’s a 24-carrot year for you, Rabbit, as your wealth expands and stabilizes. Career shifts and business growth are supported. Think long-term, not transactIonal.

Joy becomes visible and shared. Deepen relationships naturally through participation. Say yes more often.

Dragon (1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012)

Invisible protection moderates crises. Be patient to allow solutions to surface. Hold your fire, Dragon! Not every problem can be solved with force.

Progress comes in waves. Tempering your emotions prevents burnout. Stay steady amid fluctuations.

Prepare more than usual. Be flexible in your relationships.

Snake (1929, 1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001, 2013)

Wealth comes through clean effort and disciplined judgment. Don’t be scaly. Ethical choices protect long-term stability better than clever shortcuts. Steady accumulation beats opportunistic risk.

If ignored, health issues could be challenging. Amplified stress could weaken recovery.

Seek preventive care and early intervention rather than heroic fixes.

Horse (1918, 1930, 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2021)

This is a year where leadership is assigned, rather than requested. Stay in the saddle, Horse, and enjoy the ride. You will be called forward to organize, decide, and steady others under pressure. Lead through structure and alliances, not force.

Wealth grows quietly, not theatrically. Long-term accumulation beats speculation. Protect gains through discipline, not cleverness.

Progress comes from compliance, preparation, and emotional regulation rather than confrontation.

Goat/Sheep (1919, 1931, 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003)

Wipe that sheepish grin off your face, Goat! Align with the year to bring cooperation instead of struggle. Invest genuinely in others’ success. Social capital becomes real capital.

Visibility is restorative rather than risky. Step forward instead of working quietly in the background.

This is the year for calibration, skill upgrades, career shifts. Comfort zones are negotiable, stagnation is not.

Monkey (1932, 1944, 1956, 1968, 1980, 1992, 2004, 2016)

No monkey business, please! Refresh perspective via new environments and reset luck.

Formal study, certifications, and structured knowledge pay dividends.

Isolation can be corrosive if ignored. Counter it deliberately with connection and routine.

Rooster (1921, 1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005)

Relationships flourish through celebration and shared presence. Social energy attracts both romance and opportunity. Direct charm inward if temptations appear. Go rest in your roost.

Help arrives precisely when needed. Accept guidance without ego and extend it downward in return.

Quiet benefactors support steady growth. Patience enhances returns.

Dog (1922, 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006)

It’s not a doggone world after all because effort is rewarded through proper channels. Promotions, credentials, not recognition, arrive through consistency. Play the system intelligently.

Your creative and intellectual output peaks. Channel inspiration into tangible results.

Pig/Boar (1923, 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007)

Keep your snout up, Pig, for every month brings renewal. Forgiveness unlocks support. Let go regularly, not dramatically.

Wealth grows through order, refinement, and long horizons.

Discipline matters in small expenses and habits. Redirect lost energy toward purpose.
