Good Omens has announced additional cast members for its upcoming second season on Amazon Prime.

As reported by Deadline, those who are reprising their roles are Derek Jacobi, Mark Gatiss, Steve Pemberton, Reece Shearsmith, and Niamh Walsh. Joining them are newly announced cast members such as Dame Siân Phillips, Tim Downie, Pete Firman, Andi Osho and Alex Norton.

However, Frances McDormand, who lent her voice to portray the character of God in the BBC series’ maiden season will not be reprising her role along with Benedict Cumberbatch, who voiced Satan.

Other cast members who are confirmed to join the series’ second season include Jon Hamm, Miranda Richardson, Maggie Service, Nina Sosanya, Doon Mackichan, Gloria Obianyo, Liz Carr, Quelin Sepulveda, and Shelley Conn.

Originally based on Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman’s international best-selling novel, the new season will explore storylines that go beyond the original source material to illuminate the uncanny friendship between Aziraphale and Crowley.

The duo, who have been on Earth since the beginning, are "getting back to easy living amongst mortals in London’s Soho when an unexpected messenger presents a surprising mystery."

For the second season, Gaiman will still serve as an executive producer and will co-showrun along with executive producer Douglas Mackinnon, who will also return to direct. Rob Wilkins, John Finnemore, and Josh Cole will also executive produce, with Finnemore serving as co-writer alongside Gaiman.

In a statement, Gaiman said: “We are so thrilled that we were able to get so many fabulous actors to return to the Good Omens family. Some of them are reprising roles, some of them are playing completely new characters. And we are just as thrilled by the people coming to the Good Omens team for the first time. We have an ensemble cast of astonishing talent, and seeing what they’re giving us is a daily treat. I can’t wait until the rest of the world gets that treat, too.”

For his part, Mackinnon said: “We are happily working our way through filming Good Omens 2 in Scotland and these new cast arrivals will only increase the pleasure of it all. The remarkable Scottish crew are loving making the magic that is Good Omens and we can’t wait to share our stories with the world.”

Amazon has yet to announce a premiere date for Good Omens’ second season, which will stream exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
