WATCH: 'Bridgerton' Season 4 trailer hints at a Cinderella story

Published Dec 26, 2025 1:02 pm

It looks like the fourth season of Bridgerton would feature a Cinderella-like love story between star-crossed lovers.

Released by Netflix on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, the official trailer revolves around Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) and his journey to find a wife—or to avoid one.

“To the season’s most notorious gentleman, Benedict Bridgerton, he must bow to that most powerful of forces: mothers,” the voiceover says as the scene cuts to Violet Bridgerton (Ruth Gemmell) telling her son Benedict that he “simply must marry" and that he might not have found the right woman yet.

She then prods the bachelor royalty to join her masquerade ball to find his perfect partner. A housemaid by the name of Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha) expresses excitement in joining the party and, in true Cinderella fashion, wears a royal gown and is told to "be out by midnight."

The two met in the ball, with Benedict falling for Sophie, calling her "the most intriguing person I have ever met." She disappears, with Benedict failing to catch her name except for a white glove. The trailer then shows Benedict's quest to find the "lady in the silver gown" along with other teases for the season.

Also in the trailer are romantic moments between Francesca Bridgerton (Hannah Dodd) and her husband, John (Victor Alli), and intimate scenes between Alice (Emma Naomi) and Will Mondrich (Martins Imhangbe), Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope (Nicola Coughlin), and even Benedict and Sophie.

Netflix's fictional historical romance-drama TV series, which launched in 2020 and is based on Julia Quinn‘s book series, features a Bridgerton sibling in every season and details their experiences in finding love in 19th-century London, dubbed the "Regency" era. The first season featured Daphne Bridgerton, then Anthony, and Colin in the succeeding ones before focusing on Benedict.
