Netflix to conclude Neil Gaiman's 'The Sandman' series with season 2
Netflix's adaptation of Neil Gaiman's The Sandman is ending with season 2.
The series' showrunner Allan Heinberg told Variety that the second season will be the last.
"The Sandman series has always been focused exclusively on Dream's story, and back in 2022, when we looked at the remaining Dream material from the comics, we knew we only had enough story for one more season," he said.
"We are extremely grateful to Netflix for bringing the team all back together and giving us the time and resources to make a faithful adaptation in a way that we hope will surprise and delight the comics' loyal readers as well as fans of our show."

Netflix renewed the show in November 2022, but at the time, the streaming giant was hesitant to call it a second season, as per Variety. Instead, it was considered "a continuation of The Sandman world.
The next season of the show will still be released in 2025.
The cancelation of the series comes after Gaiman was embroiled in sexual assault allegations. On Jan. 26, he was dropped by Dark Horse Comics, which said it would no longer publish the English author's works. Gaiman also departed Amazon Prime Video's Good Omens season 3 following the accusations.
The author has since denied the allegations, saying that he has "never engaged in non-consensual activity with anyone. Ever."
The Sandman follows the people and places affected by Morpheus, the Dream King, as he mends the cosmic and human mistakes he's made during his vast existence.
It stars Tom Sturridge as Dream, Boyd Holbrook as the Corinthian, Vivienne Acheampong as Lucienne, and Patton Oswalt as Matthew the Raven.
Season 2 will star Ruairi O'Connor, Freddie Fox, Clive Russell, Laurence O'Fuarain, Ann Skelly, Jack Gleeson, Indya Moore, and Steve Coogan.
Efforts to adapt the comic began in 1991 but it was only turned into a TV series by Netflix in 2022.
