Creepy or cool? The world's first beauty pageant featuring contestants generated by artificial intelligence has been announced, with the winner set to be judged on beauty and social media clout.

Presented by the World AI Creators Awards (WAICA) and its inaugural partner, Fanvue, the competition will celebrate the work behind digital influencer personas across the globe.

Criteria for judging

The AI-generated bets will be judged based on their beauty, the technical skills it took to create them, and their "clout" online, including their audience growth rate and social media engagements.

According to WAICA, the judges will consider "some of the classic aspects of pageantry" such as their beauty, poise, and answers to questions like "If you could have one dream to make the world a better place what would it be?"

"Contestants will earn points for their skill and implementation of AI tools used to create their digital masterpieces including use of prompts and their output, and visual detailing around hands, eyes, and backgrounds," the organizer added.

"AI Creators' social clout will be assessed based on their engagement numbers with fans, rate of growth of audience and how utilisation of other platforms such as Instagram," it continued.

WAICA said that a points-based system "will be used to score each creator across the three categories with each entrant given an overall score."

The Miss AI panel of judges will include international AI creators like Aitana Lopez and Emily Pellegrini; media founder, entrepreneur, and PR advisor Andrew Bloch; as well as beauty pageant historian and author Sally-Ann Fawcett.

Prizes

Miss AI will be crowned on May 10. The winner will take home a $5,000 (over P285,000) cash prize, access to a mentorship program worth $3,000, as well as PR support worth more than $5,000.

Prizes worth $5,000 and $2,000 (over P114,000) will be given to the second and third placers, respectively.

How to join

To join the competition, participants at least 18 years old should come up with an AI-generated model.

There is no restriction on the use of AI tools and generators. Creators may either use DeepAI, Midjourney, or their own tool as long as the output is 100% AI-generated.

Each contestant can have unlimited entries.
