PlayStation Plus free games for February: 'Destruction AllStars,' 'Control: Ultimate Edition' and 'Concrete Genie'
Heads up, PS5 and PS4 gamers. It’s a brand new month, which means, PlayStation Plus members get another serving of free downloadable games.
Sony recently announced the free games on PlayStation Plus for the month of February via the Playstation Blog website.
Lucky owners of the PlayStation 5 can enjoy some good old-fashioned vehicular mayhem with Destruction AllStars. Meanwhile, both PS5 and PS4 players can master supernatural abilities in Control: Ultimate Edition and unleash their creativity with a magical paintbrush to save the world with Concrete Genie.
Here’s a closer look at the free games available this month of February.
Destruction All Stars (PS5)
Stars and cars collide when you hop into the driver's seat of the car-smashing, heart-pounding, thrill-seeking world of Destruction AllStars. This PlayStation 5 exclusive for February has gamers entertaining the crowds by bringing controlled chaos to the vehicular combat arena. In the metal-crunching multiplayer game, you can pick one of 16 superstar competitors, then leap into four game modes, using timing, tactics and skills to cause carnage behind the wheel or create havoc with your parkour skills.
Perfect your character’s abilities—including a hero vehicle unique to them—to give you the edge in free-for-all battles or team challenges and become Global Destruction Federation Champion.
Control: Ultimate Edition (PS5, PS4)
Master psychic powers and and wield a shape-shifting sidearm in this third-person action-adventure from Remedy Entertainment (Max Payne, Alan Wake). Channel your inner Jean Grey when you take on the role of Jesse Faden, Director of the Federal Bureau of Control, whose New York headquarters are breached by an ominous enemy. Despite outward appearances, the skyscraper’s interior is vast and ever-shifting. You’ll need to explore—and weaponize—this unpredictable environment to clean house and repel the invaders.
The Ultimate Edition includes the base game as well as The Foundation and AWE expansions.
Concrete Genie
Concrete Genie follows the heartwarming journey of a bullied teen named Ash, who paints his world to life in his sketchbook With a magical paintbrush, Ash explories his hometown of Denska—a once bright and bustling seaside town now polluted by Darkness. This touching and multi-award winning action-adventure will have you cleansing streets and alleyways, and using your Living Paint to create mischievous Genies whose magical powers will aid you in overcoming puzzles and seeing off bullies who pursue you. You can also use your PS4’s Motion Sensor and PS VR in order to paint personalized artwork on the town’s alleyways.
Destruction AllStars will be released on PlayStation Plus starting February 2 and will be available to download until April 5. Control: Ultimate Edition and Concrete Genie will be available only until March 1, 2021.
