Billie Eilish earns first acting nomination for Best Supporting Performance in ‘Swarm’
Billie Eilish just got her first nod as an actress!
In an Instagram post on Wednesday, Dec. 6, the singer expressed her gratitude for her nomination for Best Supporting Performance in Swarm at the Film Independent Spirit Awards 2024.
“Damn, thank you to all the members who voted for me,” she wrote in the caption. “To be recognized for this is so crazy.”
Billie gave a shoutout to the award-giving body, Prime Video, and the people behind the film including creators Janine Nabers and Donald Glover as well as lead star Dominique Fishback.
Billie is competing against Murray Bartlett (The Last of Us), Jack Farthing (Rain Dogs), Nick Offerman (The Last of Us), Adina Porter (The Changeling), Lewis Pullman (Lessons in Chemistry), Benny Safdie (The Curse), Luke Tennie (Shrinking), Olivia Washington (I’m a Virgo), and Jessica Williams (Shrinking) in the same category.
Aside from Billie, Dominique is also nominated for Best Lead Performance in the same show at the upcoming awards ceremony.
Swarm revolves around Dre (played by Dominique), who gets extremely obsessed with fictional music icon Ni’Jah. Her obsession leads to a number of crimes, including the murder of her idol’s bashers. She later becomes part of a group of outgoing ladies led by Eva (played by Billie).
The 39th Spirit Awards winners are set to be announced on Feb. 25, 2024. The event will be hosted by Saturday Night Live alum Aidy Bryant.
