Ji Chang-wook, Wi Ha-jun join forces in Disney+ crime drama 'The Worst of Evil'
A new action-filled K-series is coming your way, Hallyu fans, and it's about to take you back to the crime-ridden streets of 1990s Seoul.
On Aug. 14, Disney+ Philippines announced that it is will start streaming the fast-paced crime drama The Worst of Evil on Sept. 27.
The series, starring popular actors Ji Changwook, Wi Hajun, and Lim Semi, follows an investigative task force as they infiltrate a new criminal organization responsible for fueling the Korea, China, and Japan drug trafficking triangle.
Here is the show's official plot, according to Disney+ Philippines:
In 1990s Seoul, a former DJ seized control of a gang and began pushing a popular new drug nicknamed 'Gangnam Crystal' in the city’s nightclubs. With little known about its source, a rural officer is recruited into an undercover police unit and is tasked with infiltrating the gang to bring it down from the inside.
Forced to keep his new assignment a secret from everyone, officer Park Jun-mo is stunned to discover his wife and fellow officer Yu Eui-jeong [have] volunteered for the same assignment, and that she has a mysterious past with the city’s new drug lord.
Changwook will play the role of police office Park Junmo, Hajun as the DJ turned gang-leader Jung Gicheul, and Semi as security officer Yu Euijeong.
Directed by Han Dongwook, The Worst of Evil is a 12-episode series with three episodes dropping for both the premiere and finale, while two episodes will be released each week in between.
Changwook also starred in some hit korean dramas including Backstreet Rookie, Suspicious Partner and Empress Ki. Wi Hajun, on the other hand, starred in award-winning survival k-drama series Squid Game, as well as 18 Again.
