‘The Chair’ first teaser trailer, release date drop

Sandra Oh heads to the academe in another “doctor” role!

Newcomer Dr. ji-Yoon Kim, played by Sandra Oh, has arrived at her new workplace in the first teaser trailer of The Chair to premiere on Netflix this August 20.

The dramedy series follows Dr. Kim as Pembroke University's new chairperson of the struggling English department. She is the first woman to head the department and one of the few staff members of color—and according to the teaser below, Dr. Kim will be bringing her own brand of leadership to the school

The Chair will debut with six 30-minute episodes, with Amanda Peet as the showrunner, writer, and executive producer.

Along with Peet and Oh, David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, and Bernie Caulfield will also executive produce the show. 

The cast includes Jay Duplass, Holland Taylor, David Morse, Bob Balaban, Nana Mensah, and Everly Carganilla.
