Samsung co-CEO Han Jong Hee dies aged 63
Han Jong Hee, the co-CEO of Samsung Electronics, has died at 63 years old.
The company announced that the executive passed away on Tuesday, March 25, after suffering a cardiac arrest.
According to its spokesperson, Han is survived by his wife and three children. A funeral service will take place at the Samsung Seoul Hospital funeral hall on Thursday, March 27.
In a message sent to CNN International, Samsung Electronics mentioned how Han dedicated over 37 years of his life to the tech giant. It also acknowledged his immense contributions and emphasized his profound impact on their trajectory "amid a challenging business environment."
"Our deepest condolences are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time," the message read.

Young Hyun Jun, the semiconductor chief executive, will take over Han's duties as the company's sole CEO.
Han, who graduated from Inha University in Incheon, South Korea with a degree in electrical engineering, joined Samsung in 1988, following the passing of its founder Lee Byung-chull.
He began leading Samsung's consumer electronics division in 2021. The following year, he also took charge of the digital appliance business and later served as a member of the board.
Prior to these roles, he managed the group responsible for creating visual displays for Samsung's diverse range of electronic devices.
