Weekend Watchlist: ‘Tribes of Europa,’ ‘I Care a Lot’ and other exciting shows on Netflix

Need some excitement in your life? Check out this week’s adrenaline-pumping new series and movies currently streaming on Netflix. 

One of the latest additions is the German dystopian sci-fi television series Tribes of Europa. The Hunger Games-like young adult series set in post-apocalyptic Europe comes from the producers of Dark and has already entered Netflix's Top 10 shows across the world a day after its release. 

Another top trending film on the streamer is the 2020 American dark comedy thriller I Care a Lot, which received generally positive reviews from critics and a Golden Globe nod for Rosamund’s Pike's performance as a con woman who takes advantage of the elderly.

Here are just a few of the latest series and films that have dropped on Netflix for your weekend “Netflix and Thrill” time. 

Tribes of Europa

Synopsis: 2074. In the wake of a mysterious global disaster, war rages between the Tribes that have emerged from the wreckage of Europe. Three siblings from the peaceful Origines tribe—Kiano (Emilio Sakraya), Liv (Henriette Confurius) and Elja (David Ali Rashed)—are separated and forced to forge their own paths in an action-packed fight for the future of this new Europa.

I Care a Lot

Synopsis: A court-appointed legal guardian defrauds her older clients and traps them under her care. But her latest mark comes with some unexpected baggage. The Netflix original film stars Rosamund Pike, Peter Dinklage, Eliza Gonzales and more.

Aquaman 

Synopsis: Amphibious superhero Arthur Curry learns what it means to be Aquaman when he must stop the king of Atlantis from waging war against the surface world. The 2018 DC superhero film stars Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe and more.

Age of Samurai: Battle for Japan

Synopsis: Dynamic reenactments and expert commentaries bring to life the tumultuous history and power struggles of a warring 16th-century feudal Japan.

How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World

Synopsis: After meeting an enchanted creature, Hiccup and Toothless set out to find a legendary dragon paradise before evil hunter Grimmel finds them first. 

Black Clover (Season 2 and 3)

Synopsis: Two orphans raised as brothers become rivals as they vie for the title of Wizard King, the highest magical rank in the land.

High-Rise Invasion 

Synopsis: High school student Yuri Honjo finds herself lost in an “abnormal space” where countless skyscrapers are connected by suspension bridges and “masked figures” mercilessly slaughter their confused and fleeing victims. To survive in this hellish world, she has two choices: kill the masked figures or be killed. Yuri is determined to survive in order to destroy this irrational world, but what will be her ultimate fate?

Canine Intervention

Synopsis: No dog, no breed, no behavior is unfixable for Cali K9’s Jas Leverette. Follow the Oakland dog trainer as he works with a range of canines and owners. 

Ginny and Georgia

Synopsis: Free-spirited Georgia and her two kids, Ginny and Austin, move north in search of a fresh start but find that the road to new beginnings can be bumpy.

My Rebound Girl

Synopsis: A coffee shop proprietor creates firm dating guidelines to avoid further heartbreak, but a new business partner soon puts her rules to the test. Starring Alex Gonzaga, Joseph Marco, Mart Escudero and more.
