AMAs 2021: BTS, Megan Thee Stallion, Doja Cat top winners’ list; Taylor Swift extends record as most-awarded artist

The 2021 American Music Awards (AMAs) wrapped up on Sunday night, Nov. 21 (Nov. 22, Philippine time) at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California, where music history was made. 

BTS, Doja Cat, and Megan Thee Stallion emerged as the biggest winners of the night as they took home three awards each. The seven-member K-pop superstars also became the first Korean act to be awarded the Artist of the Year. 

Meanwhile, singer-songwriter Taylor Swift extended her all-time record at the AMAs as the most-awarded artist in the show’s history with 34 awards. 

The AMAs, hosted by female rappers Cardi B and Queen Latifah, featured performances from Coldplay, BTS, Silk Sonic (Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak), Diplo, Olivia Rodrigo, Chlöe, and Jennifer Lopez, among others.
