The God of Mischief is back for more magic and mayhem, as Marvel recently announced that Loki season 2 is set to premiere this October.

In the social media post published by the studio on Wednesday, May 17, the second season of the hit series was confirmed to stream on Disney+ on Oct. 6.

Tom Hiddleston is set to reprise his role as Loki in the upcoming season, along with Owen Wilson as Mobius M. Mobius and Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Sylvie.

Like season 1, the upcoming chapter is produced by Marvel and distributed by Disney. It is directed by Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, with Michael Waldron and Eric Martin serving as showrunners.

Disney and Marvel offered a first look at the trailer of Loki season 2 during the Disney Content Showcase attended by PhilSTAR L!fe last November in Singapore. In the clip the companies shared with the Asian press, Loki finds himself in the Time Variance Authority (TVA) headquarters yet again after the events of season 1. This time though, the office, which is based in space-time, has turned into a ghost town with not a single Variant in sight.

By the middle of the clip, Loki reunites with his partner-in-crime, Mobius M. Mobius, and tells him that he has seen "terrible, awful things happen" when the timeline broke apart. The Asgardian prince is also seen breaking down a golden wall at the TVA office to reveal the face of Kang the Conqueror behind it.

Marvel and Disney have yet to release the show's trailer to the public.

Its first season plays a vital role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as it is where the concept of the multiverse, with Kang as one of its biggest villains, was first introduced. This and the rest of the show's exciting plot led Loki to become one of Disney+'s most-watched shows in 2021, according to Nielsen data.

Apart from Loki season 2, Marvel announced that its new show Echos is set to stream on Disney+ on Nov. 29. Marvel said the series follows Maya Lopez (played by Alaqua Cox) as she faces her past, reconnects with her Native American roots, and embraces the meaning of family and community in her hometown.
