Aespa, one of the monster rookies of K-pop’s fourth generation, took fans on a trip to their unique universe in their futuristic comeback.

Savage is the title track of the K-pop girl group’s first mini-album of the same name. The album and music video were released on Tuesday, Oct. 5.

Savage’s music video is a continuation of Aespa’s unique storyline where the members turn into female warriors to defeat the evil “Black Mamba.” They are accompanied by their own Avatar counterparts as they head to the fictional world of “Kwangya.”

In a Soompi report, the “aggressive” trap genre title track “centered on drums and bases that features a unique rap, powerful ad libs, and addictive hooks.”

The girl group’s leader Karina revealed that Savage’s music video is a peek into “our worldview and the SM Culture Universe in a variety of ways using animation, avatar, and motion graphics.”

“In order to express the unique worldview more intensely, we applied the metaverse genre. By using CGs and equipment, it allows viewers to immerse themselves into our story more,” she added.

The girl group’s mini-album also features the tracks Aenergy, I’ll Make You Cry, Yeppi Yeppi, Iconic, and Lucid Dream

Aespa is a four-member girl group formed by SM Entertainment in November 2020. The group consists of members Karina, Giselle, Winter, and Ningning.
