Looking for some relaxing background music while you chill out at home?
Square Enix has started uploading some of their most beloved video game soundtracks to the Square Enix Music Channel on YouTube.
The official YouTube Music channel launched on Tuesday (March 9) currently contains over 5,500 officially licensed soundtracks from the Final Fantasy series, Chrono series, Mana series, SaGa series, NiER series and other classic soundtracks the studio has put out over the years.
According to a short introduction video, the channel will be home to more than just game tunes and classic soundtracks in the future. The Square Enix Music Channel will also be uploading interviews, behind-the-scenes, live performance VODs, and special mixes.

In the music channel, Square Enix has even put together some themed playlists including a Holiday playlist, Valentine playlist, music for when you want to drive, relax, cry, victory music, and loads more, so users are sure to find something to suit whatever mood they’re in.
The channel also contains some pretty cool remix work, including a two-hour lo-fi mix of classic RPG tunes, perfect for anyone working from home or studying. The Mellow Minstrel Mix is a chill-filled arrangement that can be enjoyed in a relaxed, everyday setting.
While Square Enix's music has previously been available on other music services such as Apple Music and Spotify, it's great to have this incredible collection readily available for YouTube users to enjoy for free, though some ads will autoplay once in a while.
Upgrading to a premium YouTube Music subscription will allow users to download songs for offline listening and remove commercials for a more relaxing listening experience.
Here are just some of the beautifully composed Square Enix soundtracks you can currently listen to on the channel:
Final Fantasy VIII
Chrono Cross
Final Fantasy XV
Octopath Traveler
The launch of the Square Enix Music channel on YouTube comes alongside a new Final Fantasy 35th anniversary website.
The first ever Final Fantasy title was released on Dec. 18, 1987, and in 2022 the series reaches its 35th anniversary.
"In this 35th anniversary year, we will be bringing you many exciting new ways to enjoy the worlds of Final Fantasy," reads the main page.
"The FF 35th site will support new releases, sharing info on upcoming titles and merchandise," reads a message from Final Fantasy 7 Remake producer Yoshinori Kitase. "I hope you're excited for what's on the way for Final Fantasy!"
The website currently lists Chocobo GP and Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin as the newest titles, with more games coming in the future.
