Jeon Jungkook a.k.a BTS “Golden Maknae” turned 24 on Wednesday, Sept. 1, and Filipino fans know the best way to celebrate.

BTS’ Jungkook welcomed his birthday with a mini-concert on Korean video streaming platform V Live, trending hashtags on social media, a self-composed song for ARMYs, and memorable virtual events by fans to mark his special day.

Filipino ARMYs made sure to celebrate the K-pop superstar’s 24th birthday in the most Pinoy way possible.

Birthday salubong

Jungkook spent the first few hours of his birthday holding a mini-concert for fans on V Live. He also serenaded them with an on-the-spot composed song using the lyrics they wrote themselves.

The K-pop superstar also did his own rendition of popular BTS songs like Paradise, Spring Day, Zero O’clock (00:00), and more.

Filipino fans stayed up late to welcome Jungkook’s birthday.

Filipino ARMYs organized a birthday salubong at midnight to celebrate Jungkook’s birthday on V Live. The two-hour video garnered 20 million viewers worldwide.

Birthday candles for a special boy

Jungkook wrapped up his birthday video by blowing out the candles on a cake given by his fellow member J-Hope. Filipino ARMYs couldn’t help but join in on social media.
