'Culinary Class Wars Season 2' to premiere this December
Ready for another round of intense culinary showdowns? The second season of Culinary Class Wars is cooking up its grand return this December.
Netflix has released the official teaser trailer for the new edition of the South Korean cooking competition, giving a glimpse at the high-pressure challenges and dishes that the competitors will make.
The teaser featured snippets of the contestants' voice-overs, showcasing their determination to claim victory.
But the road ahead may be long as the trailer revealed the celebrity chefs joining the competition, including Michelin two-star chef Lee Jun, Michelin-starred chef Son Jong Won, Korea’s first master of temple cuisine Venerable Sunjae, and Chinese cuisine master Hou Deok Juk.
Since its first season's premiere on Sept. 17, Culinary Class Wars became the first Korean unscripted title to dominate the Global Top 10 TV (Non-English) list for three consecutive weeks.
Culinary Class Wars followed a cookery contest in which contestants competed throughout various rounds. Their dishes were judged by Korea’s top restaurateur Paik Jong-won and Chef Anh Sung-jae of Mosu Seoul, the country's sole Michelin three-star restaurant chef.
The show featured one hundred elite chefs divided into two classes. One group of 20 celebrity chefs was dubbed as White Spoons and competed under their real names, while the remaining 80 contestants were non-celebrity chefs classed as Black Spoons and competed under aliases.
Kwon Seong-joon from the Black Spoons was eventually declared the winner and won the KRW 300 million (P12.7 million) prize money.
Culinary Class Wars Season 2 is slated to premiere on Dec. 16.
