Get ready for the ultimate movie monster battle! The first trailer for Godzilla vs. Kong just dropped, giving fans a longer look at the epic showdown between two of the most iconic beasts in the world of comics, television and film.

Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures released the exciting first trailer for the long-awaited monster movie on Sunday (Jan. 24) and the first real footage was worth the long wait. As previously reported, the film's release date had been moved up two months ahead of schedule, so fans will be able to cheer for their favorite kaiju when the film is relased in theaters and on HBO Max on March 26.

The trailer gives fans more clues about what to expect, including more on Kong and his protectors, who are on a quest to find Kong his real home. Kong forms a special bond with an orphan child named Jia, who is the only one who can really communicate with him.

Their quest gets extra complicated when they cross paths with Godzilla. Apparently, something is provoking Godzilla into hurting humans and demolishing cities.

Godzilla vs. Kong is directed by Adam Wingard (Blair Witch, Netflix's Death Note) and stars Alexander Skarsgård, Millie Bobby Brown, Rebecca Hall, and Brian Tyree Henry.

Godzilla vs. Kong is the fourth entry in Legendary’s monster universe following Godzilla (2004), Kong: Skull Island (2017), and Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019).

Check out the trailer before it debuts in theaters and on HBO Max on March 26, 2021.
