Halsey is pregnant with a ‘rainbow baby’

Halsey is going to be a momma!

The pop star announced the news on her Instagram account, sharing a series of photos showing off her blossoming bump. While she did not reveal the father's identity, ELLE reported she's expecting her first baby with screenwriter and film producer Alev Aydin.

In the snaps taken by photographer Sam Dameshek, she looked lovely as ever in a rainbow crocheted bikini top, which she paired with denim jeans. She also posed topless in other layouts.

On Twitter, she kept it short yet sweet, writing: “My rainbow.”

Jennifer Kulp-Makarov, M.D., FACOG told Parents.com that a rainbow baby “is a baby born after a miscarriage, stillborn, or neonatal death. It is called a rainbow baby because it is like a rainbow after a storm: something beautiful after something scary and dark.”

It can be recalled that the pop singer had an unfortunate miscarriage in the past. Years ago, she revealed to Rolling Stone that she suffered from such directly before her concert.

“It’s the angriest performance that I’ve ever done in my life. That was the moment of my life where I thought to myself, ‘I don’t feel like a f*cking human being anymore,’” she mused, adding that it led to self-blame and made her “beat myself up” over the incident.

“I want to be a mom more than I want to be a pop star, more than I want to be anything in the world,” she said in the same interview.

In 2016, she was diagnosed with endometriosis. However, The Guardian reported last year that “her latest prognosis is positive,” as Halsey said motherhood “is looking like something that’s gonna happen for me. That’s a miracle.”

Halsey is best known for her hit songs Colors (2015), Bad At Love (2017), and Without Me (2020).
