Local radio station to shift to all-music format, according to former DJs
Home Radio 97.9 will soon go DJ-less, according to its former disc jockeys.
DJ Chris confirmed the shift in a Facebook post as he explained his departure from his home radio network.
Chris also shared that he has not yet found a new radio station but promised to give updates on his employment on his Facebook page.
Nevertheless, Chris encouraged listeners to still support his former radio station.
DJ Daryl Justin, who also left the station, also disclosed the format change in a live video of his last radio broadcast on the station, as posted on his Facebook page.
"The station will have a not-so-different sound, but this will fill your day with all the music from then and now," he said.
"Just turning things up a notch without me waking you up," he continued, while still calling the station on its tagline, "the number one easy listening station," before thanking his fellow DJs, radio staff, and his bosses.
On April 27, it can be recalled that Home Radio station manager Braggy "DJ Braggy" Braganza died at the age of 57.
Home Radio or DWQZ 97.9 FM is a radio station owned and operated by Aliw Broadcasting Corporation.
