Notable Filipino film directors urged voters to “vote for the country” and "choose light over darkness" in the upcoming 2022 elections.

In a video message released by the Directors Guild of the Philippines Inc. (DGPI) on Wednesday (May 4), 41 Filipino directors voiced out the traits of the president they were voting for.

The directors claimed that their vote has no color and no partylist, but is for the Filipino people.

The over two-minute long video message included voiceovers from National Artist for Cinema Kidlat Tahimik, Jose Javier Reyes, Erik Matti, and others superimposed on films they directed.

May pag-asa. May pagkakataon. May liwanag.”

‘O, ano ang pipiliin niyo? Dilim o liwanag?,” voices National Artist for Cinema Kidlat Tahimik.
