It’s birit time: Spotify introduces built-in karaoke feature

It’s a long time coming, but Spotify’s in-app karaoke feature will surely be a hit at your next barkada party as you sing your heart out to your favorite songs.

Spotify has launched a built-in karaoke mode that lets users sing along with the lyrics of your best-loved bop music and even gives a scorecard at the end, just like what a real karaoke would do. The only catch? Gone are those anime characters dancing offbeat or the picturesque stills of flowers and landscapes.

The karaoke mode would be available for every Spotify user without the need to go premium.

All you need to do is update the application to its latest version; however, there may be instances when your latest update wouldn’t show the new feature. But fret not, because it may come within the next few days upon updating the application.

Twitter users who just discovered the feature have been raving about it online, citing birit-worthy songs that would rack up hits in the following weeks, thanks to Spotify’s new update.

“Spotify has a karaoke feature. Filipinos are gonna get the numbers on this song up by the start of August,” said one Twitter user together with a photo of Jessa Zaragosa’s hit song “Bakit Pa?”

Some Twitter users even noted that this update would be a win for the Filipino community.

Others tweeted how they couldn't wait to unleash their singing skills at parties once they get hold of the in-app karaoke feature.
