Art enthusiasts, unite! 

Apart from the Pride March, these art events are set to color your June as various local artists are showcasing their art—from nostalgic children’s art, Chino Yulo’s take on the beauty of water, and the varying art styles in Alab to be featured in the art capital of the Philippines.  

If you’re searching for ways to unwind on your days off, here are some events you might want to attend this June.

Ang Ilustrador Ng Kabataan (INK) opens its annual exhibit dubbed Worlds within Worlds happening from June 15 to July 28 at the Ayala Museum, Makati City. 

It will showcase over 100 individual works by member illustrators, including the 2024 batch of new members. 

They will also hold an art fair on Sunday, June 30 on Ayala Museum's Free Museum Day.  Attendees may also learn more about Ang INK’s award-winning artists during the special talks set to be held in mid-July in celebration of the National Children's Book Day. 

The Worlds within Worlds exhibit will be in the second-floor gallery of the museum, open from Tuesday to Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is free! 

Ang INK is the first and only organization dedicated to children’s illustration. Learn more about the exhibit here.

Explore the wonders of the artworks of Chino Yulo, an artist specializing in contemporary Philippine sculpture in his fifth solo exhibition, Be Water.

Inspired by Bruce Lee’s philosophy, the featured artworks will show water's physical properties and its beauty. This also aims to explore the philosophical message of the "be like water" ethos.  

“Yulo's art encourages viewers to find strength in flexibility, beauty in adaptability, and harmony in life's inevitable changes,” the statement read. 

The exhibit is happening from June 9 to 23 at the Imahica Art Gallery in Mandaluyong City. 

Alab Art Exhibition 

Drop by Angono, Rizal the art capital of the Philippines and enjoy the varying artworks of veteran and emerging artists in the Alab art exhibit at The Blanco Art Gallery.

Presented by the Unified Artists Society, "Alab" will showcase artworks that depict the fiery passion of our local artists. Apart from the blazing creativity, these artworks also aim to “bring light and warmth."

Some artworks that will be featured include local artists Abe Tejada, Abegail de Luna, Aggie Rarangol, Alexander Balmaceda, Ameer Catandihan, Eleanor Oberio, Ferdinand Sanchez, Gabz Mendiola, and Gary Montenegro, among others. 

The exhibit will run from June 1 to July 27, and open from Tuesday to Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
