Ready for another mind-bending series? Black Mirror returns for more.

Netflix confirmed that the hit anthology series has been renewed for an eighth season. “Black Mirror will return, and hopefully it’ll be more Black Mirror than ever,” creator Charlie Brooker teased in an interview with Tudum.

"Well, luckily it does have a future, so I can confirm that Black Mirror will return, just in time for reality to catch up with it. So, that’s exciting. That chunk of my brain has already been activated and is whirring away," he added.

When asked about how the new season was developed, Brooker did not go into the specifics, but he likened the process to putting together an album.

"It’s a useful thought experiment when approaching a new story. I’ll often think of, 'Well, what haven’t we done yet, and what tone am I looking for? Where does this track come on the album, and what musical direction are we going to go into?' We’ll find out. Very unlikely you’ll ever see a Black Mirror hoedown," he said.

Further details about its plot, cast, and release date have yet to be announced.

The previous season of the dystopian series centered on technology, including artificial intelligence and the digital afterlife. It starred Rashida Jones, Chris O’Dowd, Issa Rae, Awkwafina, James Nelson-Joyce, Michele Austin, and Cristin Milioti, among others.

The seventh season earned Golden Globe nominations, including Best Television Limited Series, Anthology Series, or Motion Picture Made for Television. Additionally, Rashida Jones and Paul Giamatti received acting nominations for their performances in the Season 7 episodes "Common People" and "Eulogy", respectively.

Black Mirror is an anthology series that often explores dark, satirical, or unsettling themes related to technology, social issues, and human behavior, among others.
