Korean talent agency MLD Entertainment is set to launch a global girl group with members coming from the Philippines, Japan, United States, Indonesia, and Vietnam.

The upcoming group is composed of six members selected from over 50,000 trainees, as per a report from Korean entertainment platform Kpopstarz. The aspiring K-pop stars have been training for as short as one week to as long as one year and eight months.

Reports have also mentioned that auditions took place in the United States, Japan, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Vietnam.

"According to the speed of development and teamwork of trainees, they can debut or be eliminated in the middle. Since they cannot be bitten after their debut, not only the trainees themselves but also their agencies can be cautious,” MLD Entertainment said in a statement.

This implies that out of the six initial members, there is a possibility that some of them might be replaced by other trainees who suit the girl group’s image.

The girl group is reportedly gearing up for a 2022 debut.

MLD Entertainment is the entertainment agency of Kpop groups Momoland and T1419.
