Mariah Carey gave a special mention to her Filipino fans after her 1994 Christmas song All I Want for Christmas Is You saw an increase in Spotify streams at the start of -ber months this year.

In a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, Sept. 3, the singer reacted to a tweet on her fan page, which reported that her timeless hit received over 300,000 streams on Spotify on Saturday, Sept. 2. It noted that the number is a “75% increase compared to the same day in 2022.”

“Not yet! I’ll allow it for my Filipino lambs, though. I don’t make the rules,” the singer wrote.

Written and produced by Carey and Walter Afanasieff, All I Want for Christmas Is You was released in 1994 as part of her first holiday album Merry Christmas. It was also chosen as the lead single from the project.

The American superstar previously revealed that it was her “dream for it to become a classic Christmas song” when she wrote it. “I am so proud of the song’s impact as it continues to create memories for fans each year,” she said in the track’s titular book.
