Deathloop delayed to 2021
Arkane Lyon announced that Deathloop has been delayed to 2021. The developer of Dishonored and Prey previously said that its next-gen game was slated to come out later this year but due to restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the studio opted to delay its launch.
In a statement posted on Twitter, Arkane Lyon explained that polishing its PlayStation exclusive in the time of the pandemic is “taking longer than usual” as their employees adjusted to a work-from-home scheme in order to ensure their health and safety.
“This extra time will allow our team to bring Deathloop’s world to life with as much character and fun as you’ve come to expect from our team,” the company said. “While we know this is the right decision for Deathloop, we share your disappointment and apologize for making you wait even longer.”
“Our ambition for Deathloop is to deliver a signature Arkane game that takes you to never-before-seen places in a stylish new world… at the same time, the health and safety of everyone at Arkane Lyon remains our top priority.”
Deathloop is about two supernatural assassins caught in a perpetual clash in an island called Blackreef. Colt is at the receiving end of a never-ending manhunt and his only way of getting out of the time loop is to eliminate the eight Visionaries responsible for it.
