Chris Evans to reprise role as Captain America in upcoming Marvel film – report
It appears that Chris Evans is not hanging up his vibranium shield just yet.
Deadline reported that the 39-year-old actor is expected to reprise his role as Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, in an upcoming Marvel film.
The report noted that it’s still unclear “whether the deal is closed, but insiders say it’s headed in that direction for Evans to return as Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, in at least one Marvel property.”
"Sources add it’s unlikely to be a new Captain America installment and more likely to be like what Robert Downey Jr. did after Iron Man 3, appearing in such films as Captain America: Civil War and Spider-Man: Homecoming," it said.
After headlines of Evans’ eventual return to the MCU circulated on the Internet Friday morning, the actor took to Twitter to address the rumors and said, “News to me” along with a shrugging emoji.

Marvel had no comment on the news, according to Deadline.
During the final moments of 2019's Avengers: Endgame, Steve Rogers, who chose a life with Peggy Carter, passed on his shield to the Falcon, making Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson the newest Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Evans first played the role of Steve Rogers in 2011’s Captain America: The First Avenger. He later reprised the iconic superhero in several MCU films in the following years including The Avengers (2012), Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), Captain America: Civil War (2016), and Avengers: Infinity War (2018).
