Gretchen Ho moves to TV5
Athlete and TV host Gretchen Ho is now with TV5.
Her move was announced via an online press conference on Tuesday, Jan. 26. Gretchen will be part of TV5’s news program Frontline Pilipinas and One News’ primetime newscast The Big Story.
“This is probably a more mature Gretchen Ho that you will be seeing and I’m looking forward to doing more stories and also to producing my own show,” she said during the media conference.
A former volleyball player, Gretchen has been with ABS-CBN since 2013, first as a sports commentator then as a TV host and field reporter for many of the network’s programs.
She was part of ABS-CBN’s morning show Umagang Kay Ganda, which went off the air permanently in July 2020 following the denial by Congress to renew ABS-CBN’s franchise.
During the media conference, Gretchen expressed gratitude to ABS-CBN. “Sobra akong grateful. It’s an understatement. I wouldn’t be here today without my former network ABS-CBN.”
She also took to social media to thank the network as she announced her move to TV5.
“Malaki ang pasasalamat ko sa lahat ng nagtiwala at nakasama sa aking ABS-CBN journey,” Gretchen said.
She further said: “However, time has come for me to grow even further, and to continue on pursuing my personal calling.”
