LIST: 48th Gawad Urian nominees
The Manunuri ng Pelikulang Pilipino has officially released the list of nominees for the 48th Gawad Urian.
Southern Lantern Studios and Terminal Six Post's Tumandok, which is a portrayal of the Ati people's struggles in the Philippines, leads with 11 nominations, including Best Film, Best Direction, Best Screenplay, and Best Actress.
Kono Basho, a film set in Japan with themes of grief and healing, has ten nominations. They are recognized for Best Editing, Best Cinematography, and Best Film, to name a few.
Meanwhile, drama-thriller film Green Bones by GMA Pictures, GMA Public Affairs, and Brightburn Entertainment has eight.
The Gawad Urian will be held in De La Salle University on Oct. 11. During the event, veteran actor Dante Rivero will be honored as the recipient of Natatanging Gawad Urian.
The organization said that the nominations for Documentary and Short Film will be announced separately at a later date.
