'It's Showtime' to take over 'Tahanang Pinakamasaya' as GMA's noontime show—report
ABS-CBN's noontime show It's Showtime is set to replace TAPE Inc.'s Tahanang Pinakamasaya after it went off the air in early March.
In a report by Pilipino Star Ngayon, ABS-CBN and GMA are said to be finalizing details of It's Showtime's transfer to GMA-7's main channel.
The program, headed by Vice Ganda, Anne Curtis, Vhong Navarro, and others, has been airing on GTV since July of last year after TV5 signed an agreement with Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon to produce and air their new variety show on its network.
After Tahanang Pinakamasaya went off air on March 8, GMA-7 has been showing Filipino movies in the vacant slot.
In their announcement of the show's closure, TAPE Inc. said, "It is with a heavy heart that we inform our televiewers that our noontime show Tahanang Pinakamasaya on Kapuso network, GMA 7, will no longer be on air effective March 8, 2024."
"GMA 7’s kind consideration and understanding of the company’s unwanted circumstances have been instrumental in helping the company in this transition," it added. "Despite our best efforts to save the show, both parties have reached a mutual agreement to finally call off the show."
TAPE also thanked "the loyal viewers, esteemed hosts, supporting advertisers, hardworking crew, and dedicated employees who have been with us from the very beginning." It ended its statement with an optimistic "See you again!"
Formerly GMA Network’s noontime show Eat Bulaga, Tahanang Pinakamasaya has since undergone rebranding after losing an arduous trademark case against Tito, Vic, and Joey.
