Ogie Alcasid releases heartfelt new single ‘Thank You, Pa’ in time for Father’s Day
Ahead of Father’s Day, singer-songwriter Ogie Alcasid released his new single Thank You, Pa, a tribute to his late father Herminio Alcasid Sr., and to all dads.
Alcasid penned the song and co-produced it with ABS-CBN Music creative director Jonathan Manalo. The single was released under Star Music.
“Song for Dad is out. Happy Father’s Day on Sunday dear Dads,” he captioned his post on Instagram with the clip of the song.
Alcasid’s father passed away in September 2020. He did not disclose the details of his father’s passing.
On Friday morning, June 18, Alcasid shared on Instagram that Thank You, Pa made it to a Spotify playlist after it was released. The song is available in several music platforms including Apple Music and Deezer.
“What a beautiful Friday morning. Fell asleep early last night and did not know that my song made it to the new music Friday playlist and my dear friends even made the song trend last night,” he said.
“I am so grateful. TY to my @starmusicph team. TY to all my dear friends who have been supporting my music. My dad is smiling from heaven,” he signed off the post.
Ogie himself is a father of three—daughters Sarah and Leila with former Miss Australia Michelle Van Eimeren, and son Nate with his wife, singer Regine Velasquez.
