American tech giant Apple just announced its much-anticipated launch event this September, when it's expected to unveil the next iPhone series.

The event, which features pre-recorded videos, will be streamed on Apple's website on Sept. 12 at 1 p.m. ET (Sept. 13, 1 a.m., Manila Time).

Apple has a known tradition of announcing its newest iPhone models during the particular month every year.

The upcoming smartphone, likely branded as iPhone 15, is reportedly getting a boost in its design, with slightly thinner bezels and rounder edges. Its reported slight curvature on the front and back glasses should also make it easier to hold and carry.

Some models would also be reportedly made of titanium.

The phones are also expected to use USB Type C charger, the more accessible charging port being used by other gadgets including Android devices. iPhones use the brand's very own lightning port.

Other reported specifications of the iPhone 15 include the side buttons and mute switch being replaced by two new modules that use haptic technology, which simulates the feeling of pressing buttons.

The tech brand is also poised to announce new Apple Watch models, including an upgrade to the high-end Apple Watch Ultra.

The company also typically releases updates to its operating system, iOS, during the event.

Last June, Apple announced the iOS 17, which includes the new "NameDrop" feature that allows for easier contact information sharing, additional safety features, a built-in journaling app, a new nightstand mode, redesigned contact cards, better auto-correct and voice transcription, and live voicemail.
