Pinoy ‘Power Duo’ on their ‘America’s Got Talent’ stint: ‘We hope we made Filipinos proud’
Pinoy couple Jervin and Anjanette Minor or "Power Duo" may have concluded their stint on America’s Got Talent: All Stars in the Top 11, but for them, having been able to represent the Philippines on an international stage was already a win in itself.
“We are proud to represent our country in AGT: All Stars because we know that we have somehow given inspiration to others and have proven that dreams do come true,” Anjanette told PhilSTAR L!fe.
Jervin, for his part, expressed his gratitude to their fellow Filipinos who supported them throughout their AGT journey. “Thank you for the love from the beginning until now. We hope we made Filipinos proud because we may not have won the title, but we’re glad to know we have won the hearts of people in different parts of the world by showcasing Pinoy talent to a global audience,” he said.
The talented pair finished their run in the competition as grand finalists on Feb. 28 as self-taught aerialist Aidan Bryant emerged as its overall winner. The rest of the top five included magician Aidan McCann, saxophonist Avery Dixon, dance act Light Balance Kids, and ventriloquist Ana-Maria Margean.
In its Jan. 23 episode, the dancing tandem swung their way to the final round after their breathtaking performance of Calum Scott’s You Are The Reason.
They delivered a stunning aerial performance as they gracefully danced to In The Stars by Benson Boone at the grand finals, which aired on Feb. 21. They counted on a ceiling installation to pull off their stunning acro moves and maximize the stage.
Jervin and Anjanette’s journey to the AGT stage started when they reigned supreme in the fifth season of Pilipinas Got Talent in 2016. The two took part in Asia’s Got Talent in 2019, where they finished in the top three of the competition. They tied the knot in 2021 and welcomed their first child in the same year.
