Fancy a museum trip? Ayala Museum to offer free entrance on March 24

Calling all art lovers and history geeks!

If you don't have plans for the weekend yet, you might want to spend a day at a museum to learn about the past or simply appreciate art and culture.

This Sunday, March 24 could be the perfect time to do so as Ayala Museum is offering free admission to mark the last day of their Splendor: Juan Luna, Painter as Hero exhibition. It puts the spotlight on Hymen, oh Hyménée!, a long-lost masterpiece by renowned painter and activist Juan Luna.

The painting, which was last seen over 130 years ago at the Universal Exposition of Paris in 1889, shows a scene from a Roman wedding ritual where the bride enters the groom's home. It went missing for more than a century after Luna's death in 1899 and was later discovered by an aristocratic family in Europe, who eventually sold the painting to art collector and León Gallery owner Jaime Ponce de Leon in 2014.

Take note that in order to enjoy the free entrance, you must first register on the Ayala Museum's website. The registration form, however, still isn't available as of writing.
