Images and video of the upcoming handheld accessory for Sony's gaming console PlayStation 5 (PS5) have been leaked.

Online video game news website IGN reported that X (formerly Twitter) user @Zuby_Tech, a self-proclaimed tech enthusiast who has over 22,900 followers, shared the leaked media circulating on Reddit and Imgur.

The video showed the device, dubbed as "Project Q," running under an Android operating system. There's also a simple menu displaying a QR code and icons of apps with what appears to be a Chinese text.

@Zuby_Tech briefly navigates the menu and shows the top, bottom, and back of Project Q.

In another tweet, the user also shared photos of the screen removed.

As previously reported, Project Q has an 8-inch liquid crystal display screen capable of the gold standard 1080p or "full high definition" resolution.

It uses all of the PS5 DualSense wireless controller's buttons and features, including haptic feedback (which allow users to feel dynamic vibrations to simulate the feeling of certain game elements) and adaptive triggers (which make users experience varying levels of force and tension while interacting with the game).

The device is made for Remote Play, a feature which lets users stream PlayStation games from their console over high-speed internet connection without being tied to their television. Remote Play is available on Android smartphones and tablets, iPhone or iPad, Windows PC, and Mac.

According to a PlayStation Showcase 2023 video, games must be installed on the PS5 console itself to become streamable on Project Q. It's also not compatible with games that require a virtual reality headset.

Project Q's release date and price have yet to be announced.
