'Adventure Time' movie, two spin-off series are in the works
Mathematical! More Adventure Time projects are in the works.
Variety reported that a movie and two new spin-off series are underway based on the hit cartoon.
Adventure Time showrunner Adam Muto and two other creatives who have worked on the series, Steven Universe creator Rebecca Sugar and Over the Garden Wall co-creator Patrick McHale are on board for the upcoming projects.
Other details have yet to be revealed.
The hit series, created by Pendelton Ward, followed the adventures of teenage human Finn and his adoptive brother Jake, a dog with stretchy powers. It first aired in 2010 and ran for 10 seasons until 2018.
The original series starred Jeremy Shada, John DiMaggio. Hynden Walch, Tom Kenny, Olivia Olson, and Niki Yang.
Since the show's end, a couple of spin-off series have hit streaming services, including Adventure Time: Distant Lands and Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake.
Another series, titled Adventure Time: Side Quests has been greenlit. It will take viewers back to a time when Finn and Jake were just kids, dreaming about embarking on epic quests.
Meanwhile, Adventure Time: Heyo BMO will be a preschool series starring Finn and Jake's lovable video game console BMO.
