All eyes will be on world No. 32 Alex Eala as she begins her Wimbledon 2026 journey on Tuesday, June 30.
The Filipina tennis sensation will take on Mexico's Renata Zarazua, who is world No. 75. This marks their second career meeting after Zarazua emerged victorious in their previous encounter in 2024.

Eala and Zarazua are scheduled to play on Court 12. Their match will begin at 8:50 p.m. (Philippine time).
The two previously faced off in August 2024. At the time, Zarazua scored a victory against Eala after winning three sets in the International Tennis Federation W100 Cary, North Carolina quarterfinal.
Should Eala win this time around, a possible showdown with former world No. 1 Serena Williams could take place. She returned to the professional tennis scene on June 1, nearly four years after her retirement, and was awarded a wild-card spot at Wimbledon.
Eala debuted at Wimbledon in 2025, exiting in the first round after falling to 2024 champion Barbora Krejcikova. She also played in the women's doubles alongside German partner Eva Lys, but they were defeated in the first round.
