Eraserheads' Ang Huling El Bimbo reunion concert formed a new core memory for OPM fans.
The four-piece band—composed of Ely Buendia, Raimund Marasigan, Buddy Zabala, and Marcus Adoro—took the stage together again nearly a decade after they officially disbanded on Dec. 22 at the SMDC Festival Grounds, drawing a crowd as big as 75,000 people, according to the concert's organizers.
The grand reunion was full of feels, as concert-goers sang along to their favorite songs next to their favorite people with the band who wrote the soundtrack to their childhood.
After a night of singing along to classics like Ligaya, With A Smile, Alapaap, and Ang Huling El Bimbo, those who got to see the band in person took to social media to gush about everything they felt from the magical show. Old friends came together and dreams were fulfilled—even celebrities who saw the show couldn't help but post videos of themselves shouting their favorite lyrics with the Eheads crowd.
"The type of concert you can't stop talking about and you keep replaying and unpacking moments in your head. Eraserheads will always be my favorite Pinoy band of all time," host Bianca Gonzalez wrote on Twitter.
Actress Sofia Andres saw the show with her dad and shared about how they used to sing their songs together.
"I remember singing this song with my dad growing up & I remember hearing this song for the first time while he was driving sa traffic ng C5," she said on Instagram.

Itchi Flores worked as part of the reunion concert, calling it "nostalgic and sentimental."
"They were the band that my wife and I grew up with. Their songs are our songs which bring us back to our college years as we were present in many of their concerts in UP back then. And now, being part of their reunion concert is both nostalgic and sentimental," he shared.
The concert also became a reunion for Flores as he saw his former teacher and friends from the entertainment industry.
For Eraserheads fanatic Ayanne Aborka, seeing the band in concert was a dream come true.
"I did a lot of growing up with Eheads music as a background in my everyday life," she shared on Facebook, adding that the four guys were her musical heroes.
Although she wasn't able to go to their first reunion concert in 2008, she made sure she got to go to the 2022 show.
"When they announced a few months ago that they will be having a post-pandemic reunion concert, I did not even think twice. I was so sure that I am going to attend this time," Aborka said.
"I owe this to my broke 14-year-old self, who really wanted to watch her most favorite band in the world. After all, the Eheads will only hold reunion shows once in a blue moon."
Niña Giselle Reyes Lumba gushed about having her head in the clouds during the Dec. 22 show. While she didn't see the concert with the person she thought she was going to see it with years ago, she was happy to make new memories with others.
"A few years back, I and someone wished and dreamed of watching the Eraserheads concert together. 'Pag mag reunion concert ulit sila manood tayo ah,' I remember those words from him. I saw the concert last night but I wasn't with the person I dreamed of seeing it with," Lumba wrote on Facebook.
"But the good news is, we can still fulfill and live up those dreams without having them in our lives. Life and dreams do not stop just because they choose to build it with someone else. We can still collect new experiences and create good memories. There's still more to life. Embrace what is in the present and welcome what the future has to offer."
