What to expect from Apple's new launch event this Oct. 29

Apple fans may have more gadgets to look forward to as the tech giant is set to hold its upcoming “Pro and Tell” event this October.

Scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 29 at 1:00 a.m. (Philippine time), the event’s name hints at a focus on the MacBook Pro, which is rumored to be in line for a significant upgrade by introducing the touch-screen feature, per Bloomberg News.

The premium models are also rumored to feature a lighter design and a Dynamic Island-style cutout in place of the current display notch.

Apple could also introduce a new entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro powered by an M6 chip, which will retain designs similar to its current versions, according to 9to5Mac.

The iPad mini may also get an upgrade, with reports pointing to an OLED display, a redesigned speaker system, and a front-facing camera repositioned for landscape use.

For now, these devices remain rumored, and Apple has not confirmed their specifications or availability.

The “Pro and Tell” event comes weeks after the company unveiled its first-ever foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, in September.

The device features a 5.4-inch outer display that unfolds into a 7.6-inch inner screen, giving users a larger display for viewing content, gaming, and multitasking. It is powered by Apple’s A20 Pro chip and runs iOS 27, which has been adapted to support the phone’s foldable design.

Along with this, the company also unveiled the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, Apple Watch Series 12, Apple Watch Ultra 4, and AirPods 5.

Earlier in October, Apple introduced the Apple Home Collection, a new range of smart-home accessories developed with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric.

The lineup includes the HomeView smart-home hub, which combines a display, speaker, virtual assistant, and smart home control center.
