Looking for a free way to spend a day with art? The Metropolitan Museum of Manila is opening its doors for free from Aug. 18 to 23.
Visitors can register online or onsite to explore the museum's current exhibitions, discover artworks, and take their time wandering through the galleries.
Currently on view is “The Power of Engagement,” which features a selection of artworks from the M Collection.
Visitors can also check out “Behind the Lens: Cultural and Border Crossings, 1950–2000s,” an exhibition featuring photographs by F. Sionil Jose, George Gascon, Romeo Gacad, and Xyza Cruz Bacani.
For those looking for something beyond the exhibitions, the museum's Education Team has also developed in-house games that visitors can play with friends and family or enjoy between gallery visits.
The museum is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Tuesday to Thursday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Walk-in registration closes at 5:30 p.m.
Take note that the museum will be closed on Friday, August 21, in observance of the public holiday.
