‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ reunite in first trailer for new Disney Plus series

Marvel Studios has released an action-packed first full trailer for the highly-awaited Disney Plus original series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Revealed during Disney’s Investor Day 2020, the trailer shows Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson (The Falcon) reuniting with Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes (Winter Soldier) after the events of Avengers: Endgame.

During the final moments of the film, Steve Rogers, who chose a life with Peggy Carter, passed on his shield to the Falcon, making Wilson the newest Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, it seems like Wilson is reluctant to take on the new role.

“The legacy of that shield is complicated,” Wilson tells Barnes at the beginning of the trailer.

Directed by Kari Skogland and written by Malcolm Spellman, the cast of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier also includes Daniel Brühl (Baron Zemo), Emily Vancamp (Sharon Carter) and Wyatt Russell, who’ll play as John Walker. The six-episode series debuts on Disney Plus on March 19, 2021.
