Multitasking goals: McDonald's store in China sees customers riding exercise bikes while eating

Published Dec 22, 2021 3:49 pm

Well, you've got to lose those calories eventually.

A TikTok video has gone viral for showing a McDonald's branch in China that allows customers to use an exercise bike while enjoying their orders.

Posted by user @cris13_u, the short clip sees two customers on parallel stationary bikes munching on their Big Macs and taking a sip of their drinks while steadily pedaling the calories away. The location of the particular McDonald's store wasn't disclosed.

"mc da China kkkk amei a ideia," cris13yu captioned, which supposedly translates to "McDonald’s in China, I loved the idea."

The video has since garnered 34.2 million views and 2 million likes on the video-sharing platform. Its also received mixed reactions from users, with some praising the idea while others questioning its effectiveness.

"This is like using your phone while charging," one user mentioned.

"Still more calories consumed than burned," another one commented.

True enough, per Harvard Health Publishing, 30 minutes on a stationary bike can burn approximately 210 calories for the average person. Meanwhile, a Big Mac contains 550 calories  — so a short sprint probably won't override the effects of that burger.
