WATCH: Gru gets new nemesis, a family addition, and more adventures in 'Despicable Me 4'
Ready for the fun and chaotic adventures of Gru’s family and the minions?
A trailer for Despicable Me 4 has dropped, introducing big additions to the franchise including main character Gru's new son, Gru Jr., who appears to not be as fond of his former supervillain dad.
The trailer also showed Gru’s family being forced to hide in their safe house as his newest nemesis, Maxime Le Mal (voiced by Will Ferrell) escaped from prison and is wreaking havoc in the town to seek revenge with his femme fatale girlfriend Valentina (voiced by Emmy winner Sofia Vergara).
Joining the squad in the fun and thrilling adventure are Gru’s adoptive daughters Margo (Miranda Cosgrove), Edith (Dana Gaier), Agnes (Madison Polan), and the ever-naughty and loyal minions voiced by Pierre Coffin.
Also new to the cast are characters voiced by The Kissing Booth star Joey King, Emmy winner Stephen Colbert, and Chloe Fineman from Saturday Night Live.
The film marks the franchise's sixth installment, including the 2015 film Minions and Minions: The Rise of Gru in 2022. The upcoming movie is created by award-winning directors Chris Renaud and Patrick Delage and written by Emmy-winning creator of White Lotus, Mike White, and Despicable Me OG writer, Ken Daurio.
Despicable Me 4 will premiere in U.S. cinemas on July 3. Watch the trailer below:
