During a live press conference on WeTV Philippines’s Facebook page, the trailer for The Untamed Tagalog dub was released. Fans were surprised to see the familiar faces of their favorite characters and find the Tagalog version of the series quite promising.
The trailer starts at exactly 6:21 and ends at 9:02, giving fans a more than two-and-a-half-minute trip down memory lane.
The Untamed, a xianxia drama—Chinese dramas that are influenced by Chinese folklore and mythology such as immortality and magic—first aired in China on June 27, 2019 and ended on Aug. 7 the same year.
The story is based off of Mo Xiang Tong Xiu’s novel, Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation and revolves around Wei Wuxian, who is a loathed demon cultivator and a master of the dark arts.
Sixteen years after his death, Wei Wuxian is suddenly resurrected through a self-sacrificing ritual. His return to the mortal realm reunites him with the people in his first life and his soulmate, who is now the highly-esteemed Lan Wangji. Now, Wei Wuxian along with Lan Wangji try to solve the tragic events that unfolded in the past while they reconnect with each other.
Wei Wuxian is portrayed by Chinese idol, Xiao Zhan while Wang Yibo, a member of the South Korean-Chinese boy group UNIQ and a professional motorbike racer, plays as Lan Wangji.
As of now, no news on when the Tagalog dub will be released exclusively on WeTV but interested viewers can catch The Untamed on Youtube, Netflix, and on WeTV. Even the animated version and its two spin-offs are available on the streaming platform.
