Grab ‘A Plague Tale: Innocence’ and ‘Minit’ for free on the Epic Games Store this week
Looking for something to occupy your time at home while you're stuck in lockdown?
Focus Home Interactive’s stealth adventure game, A Plague Tale: Innocence is currently free this week on the Epic Games Store as part of the store’s weekly giveaway.
“Follow the grim tale of young Amicia and her little brother Hugo, in a heartrending journey through the darkest hours of history. Hunted by Inquisition soldiers and surrounded by unstoppable swarms of rats, Amicia and Hugo will come to know and trust each other. As they struggle to survive against overwhelming odds, they will fight to find purpose in this brutal, unforgiving world.”
Originally released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in May 2019, A Plague Tale: Innoncence has received generally positive reviews from critics and has sold more than 1 million copies across all platforms. The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of the game were released in July 2021, alongside a cloud-based edition for the Nintendo Switch.
A sequel, A Plague Tale: Requiem is set to be released sometime in 2022.
The second free game this week on the Epic Games Store is Minit.
Published by Devolver Digital, Minit is a 2D indie puzzle game where the player’s life only lasts for a minute. Players will have to memorize certain patterns to progress within the time limit. The game was originally released on April 3, 2018 and was previously free on the Epic Games Store in 2019.
“Minit is a peculiar little adventure played sixty seconds at a time. Journey outside the comfort of your home to help unusual folk, uncover countless secrets, and overcome dangerous foes, all in hopes of lifting a rather unfortunate curse that ends each day after just one minute. Minit is a collaboration between Kitty Calis, Jan Willem Nijman, Jukio Kallio & Dominik Johann.”
Both A Plague Tale: Innocence and Minit will be free to claim and download for a limited time only. Get these two games until August 12 at 11:00 p.m. at the Epic Games Store.
