The official trailer for Lilo & Stitch live action adaptation is here!
In the official trailer released by Disney on Thursday, March 13 (Philippine time), Stitch, a dog-like alien experiment, is seen escaping from the lab in outer space.
There goes Lilo (Maia Kealoha), a lonely Hawaiian girl, who wishes for a best friend after spotting what she thought was a shooting star. Stitch then crash lands outside her house from outer space.
The two immediately form an unlikely bond, with the mischievous Stitch dragging Lilo to their chaotic adventures in the tropical island.
“He is your responsibility. Got it?” Nani says in the trailer, to which Lilo replies, “We promise!”
Lilo also mentions the famous line from the original animated film, saying "Ohana means family. Family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten."
It also shows Hollywood stars Courtney B. Vance, Billy Magnussen, Zach Galifianakis, who plays Jumba, Pleakley, and Cobra Bubbles, out in the island to capture Stitch.
The film stars young actress Kealoha as Lilo, Sydney Elizebeth Agudong as the elder sister Nani, and Kaipot Dudoit as David Kawena. Stitch will be voiced again by Chris Sanders.
The movie, directed by Oscar-nominated filmmaker Dean Fleischer Camp, is a live-action remake of the 2002 animated offering that follows "the wildly funny and touching story of a lonely Hawaiian girl and the fugitive alien who helps to mend her broken family."
It's produced by Jonathan Eirich, p.g.a. and Dan Lin, with executive producers Louie Provost, Tom Peitzman, and Ryan Halprin.
Lilo & Stitch live-action is set to hit cinemas on May 23.
