In 2013, developer Naughty Dog forever changed the landscape of video games with their mindblowing survival/horror title, The Last of Us. It has impacted the lives of countless gamers who played it when it was first released and have vested interest in following the continuing story of the survivors.

The video game developers marked the The Last of Us Day (formerly known as “Outbreak Day”) on the anniversary of the fictional cordyceps outbreak with the release of promotional content including new vinyl, posters, figurines, free wallpapers and PS4 themes, discounts on the games, a cosplay guide, and announcements of other merch in the works.

Mondo debuted a special vinyl release of The Last of Us Part II Original Soundtrack by Gustavo Santaolalla and Mac Quayle, and two new screenprinted posters. The album art for this special 2XLP release and stunning posters were designed by renowned illustrator Tula Lotay. The artist shared images of main protagonists Ellie and Abby on her Instagram account.

The vinyl will be available while supplies last, but act fast if you want to get your hands on the timed, limited edition posters, as these will only be available for purchase until October 1st the Mondo Shop.

Tabletop gamers also have a reason to rejoice. CMON, the makers of Bloodborne: The Board Game and God of War: The Card Game, is developing a brand new board game for The Last of Us.

As a tribute to the cosplay community, the video game makers shared an official cosplay guide to Abby. The downloadable PDF features high-resolution renders of every facet of Abby’s character design, including detailed shots of her clothing, weapons, equipment, and hair style, for costume reference.

Naughty Dog collaborated with Gaming Heads, the same creators of the Clicker statue for The Last of Us Day 2015, to launch a new 16” Ellie statue from The Last of Us Part II available in three unique editions that can be pre-ordered via GamingHeads.com.

Die-hard fans who have followed the game since the beginning might want to get their hands on a brand new modular statue from Mamegyorai Collectibles. Sculpted and painted by Masato Ohata, these two individual statues of Ellie and Joel stand at 1/9th scale. The set is available for pre-order via Mamegyorai’s website and will ship in March 2021.

Sony shared a stunning new wallpaper design by Death Stranding Art Director Yoji Shinkawa available for download on desktop and mobile platforms. A new The Last of Us Part II PS4 System Theme has also been made available to everyone for free at the PlayStation Store, along with a series of cute reaction GIFs.

Rounding out their celebrations for The Last of Us Day, PlayStation Gear Store is introducing new items to their The Last of Us collection, including the Joel Funko Pop! (while supplies last) and a brand new t-shirt and mug.

Existing The Last of Us merch not added for The Last of Us Day is expected to be discounted up to 40 percent on the PlayStation Gear Store. The PlayStation Store will be hosting a The Last of Us Day Sale with a 50 percent discount on The Last of Us Remastered, The Last of Us: Left Behind, and select The Last of Us Remastered Factions Bundles all weekend.
