Apple Music, iCloud+ prices have increased in PH
Heads up, Apple users: the Cupertino-based iPhone maker has raised prices on some of its subscription services, including Apple Music and iCloud+.
Forbes reported that a global price hike was rolled out on July 17. The tech company said that the increase for Apple Music was due to "rising licensing costs."
Currently, an individual Apple Music plan starts at P169 monthly, the Family plan at P279 monthly, and the Student tier at P85 monthly. It's now priced the same as its competitor, Spotify.
Before the price hike, the Apple streaming service was relatively cheaper, with P139 per month for Individual, P219 per month for Family, and P75 per month for Student.
An Individual Apple Music plan gives you access to over 100 million songs, which you can listen to ad-free and download for offline listening. It also features Spatial Audio and lossless audio quality, as well as exclusive access to curated playlists. With a family plan, you can share the subscription with up to five people.
Apple Music isn't the only subscription service getting a price increase, as iCloud+ in the Philippines also got a bit more costly.
Now, the 50GB plan starts at P59 per month, the 200GB plan at P199 per month, the 2TB plan at P699 per month, the 6TB plan at P1,990 per month, and the 12TB plan at P3,990 per month.
This all comes after Apple announced a price hike for Macs and iPads in June, citing a memory chip shortage brought on by the AI boom.
